Ever since I was a kid I loved taking pictures. I felt like the world I could capture in the frame was a portal to a magical realm that could only be seen through the lens. I still feel that way today. It is also a way to document what I was feeling that day - a visual diary of sorts, no matter my mood, whether it be happy, sad, agitated, or any shade in between, I could share it through my image, especially when words failed me.
Expressing myself through photography has been a healing path as well. A way to explore the world around me and connect in community.
